I do this for a living you moron. No one is obliged to help the defendant out with hiring a private attorney if they helped with the bond. If the guy cannot hire a private attorney himself, he is entitled to a public defender. The judge is wasting court time having this guy appear in front of him day after day. He should refer the defendant to a public defender.

The judge is letting the cuck city council member to stay the frick out of his business.
I'd just revoke this 'tards bond and let the councilman get fricked out of his $$.

And he gonna show them black folk, right?
This judge is clearly letting his emotions and preconceived notion's, which are obvious, cloud his judgment.

Judge McSpadden says since Townes managed to pay the bond, he can afford his own attorney. The judge ordered him to court for 10 straight days last month until he could hire someone to represent him.
It isn't racist necessarily, but this is vindictive as hell and very petty. If I am understanding this correctly. I might not be. Is he denying the defendent the right to public counsel because he had public support to help with his bail? Can he even do that? Seems kind of fricked if that's what is happening.

Ain't moving it one bit. The judge is a backwoods tobacco spittin' racist . He has made it clear that he has preconceived notion's about black defendant's

If you read the article it says the defendant was able to help pay part of his $80,000 bail but yet he could not afford an attorney. He had 4 months to get one and I am pretty sure there are attorneys that would have taken his case if he actually tried to get one. There are attorneys who specialize in taking cases for people who are less fortunate and cannot afford one which apparently this man says he is.

If not siding with a Vindictive judge who clearly has preconceive notions and not supporting the racist rhetoriic by the typicals here makes me that in your eyes or the eyes of the other typicals, then I'll wear that as a badge of honor.

And I bet you're awful at your job.
Let's let everyone out on bond through a councilmans $$ and then give them more free shite on top of it. I bet they will learn their lesson!
Judges are elected officials, you know this as well as I.
The judge has no other avenue than to fight this how he wants, now that its getting blown out of proportion, otherwise the next cycle his opponent will bring it up in a negative manner. Still will no matter what.

This. We don't need city politicians bailing out people accused of violent crimes. Kubosh needs to focus his efforts on fixing the city budget and stop pandering the minorities for votes.

You realize that you are saying that a private citizen shouldn't spend his own money how he wishes, right? And this is something that a judge needs to combat by wasting court resources? Is this really the tact that you want to take?

Yep. I watched it. And he sure did say "every time"
technically, he said anytime not every time. So you're wrong again.

This is a similar issue in New Orleans. Defendants are making 5 and some times 6 figure bail but then couldn't afford and attorney. There was a push to make the you ineligible for a public defender if you bonded out.
