I hated all of my English/Lit classes. I enjoyed reading, but I hated being told “what to read.” To this day I despise Shakespeare.

Chemistry - I went to a tiny Texas high school that had not had a chemistry class in over ten years. We had a class with three students and a teacher who didn't know much chemistry.
Because we all (teacher included) had to teach ourselves, we all learned a lot.
We also found a huge stash of lithium and had fun tossing it into water to see the reaction.

Any type of math I took and it was the whole show how you got your answer. I’d get the correct answer but it wasn’t the way they liked it.
Like on test, we had to turn in our scratch paper to getting the answers. Mine was always a jumbled up mess but all the answers were right.

Chemistry was my hardest in college. In HS, probably geometry, because I very rarely went to class.

Calculus ……..because of shitty teachers

Hardest class was due solely to my 11th grade English teacher. She was very, very tough. Taught me how to write good.
Toughest subject was French. I’ve always struggled with foreign languages.

Computer class was hard for those of us who grew up in an era where technology meant putting a quarter in an arcade machine or making a collect call. It was like all of a sudden the educational system realized that these bizarre toys for nerds would soon rule the future and they threw us all into the deep end.
I took programming in highschool in '87. Had to take Fortran and turbo pascal. One example of homework was the 500 steps to screw in a lightbulb. For example, step one: wakeup. Step two: sit up in bed. Etc. Had to detail everything.

Weightroom. I'm not a natural athlete, but I was still a four year letter in track and football, and a three year starter in football. I had to get after it in the weight room and at practice. None of it came easy.

Statistics was fricking dumb
I bombed it in college at LSU, and 6 yrs later, my professor hired me to do his addition in BR. Throughout the process, I told him how much I hated his class, and how much it pained me. He told me bluntly that his class was mandated for numerous majors that had no business taking his course.

The geometry teacher at my small school was an older alcoholic with a doctorate from Julliard. My Dad said, when he was hired, that "no Julliard PHD would teach at (name of town)." Our classes ranged from 13 to 26 students, so it was a small class B school.
The geometry teacher drove a huge black Cadillac and would drink at lunch time in his car. He could play the trumpet at a very high level. The first day, he rambled about Euclid being the immortal geometer who would one day return to Earth." He had a low, kind of whispery, ghost like voice.
He was amusing. If he came in and we were moving about class, he would say "what are you ... a bunch of nomads? Now sit down, jerks."
Students were flicking white tic-tacs at him, and when he asked what they "projectiles" were, I said they were lizard eggs falling from the ceiling tiles. He discovered my b.s. so the next day he said "Mr. Chin, you are sooooo full of bullshite."

AP English Literature. The hardest class I've ever taken in my lifem. I think the teacher got a sense of satisfaction in making that class unnecessarily difficult.
One day she brought a king cake to class and told us we could have a piece once we finished our quiz. Our quiz was 5 questions. Took 7 handwritten pages front to back. No one finished in time to eat the cake.
Aced an exam and had one question that I didn't answer in as great of detail and she marked it wrong just so I wouldn't get a perfect score. Only one other student got a perfect score in line the last 5 years
