About 10 hours of people saying that the crane was going to collapse and there was no way possible they would get it down.

I was hoping that the statue got stuck, they loaded up the crane pulling on it, and it came loose suddenly and sent 20 feet of bronze Confederate general flying off somewhere into the Warehouse District.

Either that or they'd pull the head off.

It's New Orleans. I expect a spectacle.

I wonder what city inspectors were on that job. I guess the design and build was solid and nothing went wrong until the crane mistake happened.

Plenty of inspection pictures were on the OneStop. Think they have been mirrored somewhere else.

Not sure if whatever the cause was falls under inspections.

I believe whatever was done wrong actually fell under gravity.

I know right. Just the pictures and videos that were posted anyone could tell how poorly constructed the building was. It didn’t take a unqualified city inspector to tell us that

This plan has changed so many times. It's as if no one knows what to do here

The plan has changed as if there are multiple stake holders all with different agendas. All of whom are more than happy to litigate the issue.

I'm wouldn't even say the plan has changed. Just multiple plans have been floated out there.

The developer probably proposed each one to Cantrell and Fire Marshall Bill and they present it as if it was now the plan. I'm sure there has been no lack of people willing to offer alternative solutions.

The city had plan and the developers had their own ideas. Pretty sure the developers filed an injunction a couple of weeks ago. I am assuming there was some sort of comprised reached to get this over with.
