This is what happens when you have the worst government and the worse private sector contractors...

quote:

The wreckage of the Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans will be imploded after all, after developers agreed to city demands to bring down the partially collapsed building quickly.

The plan to use explosives means the remains of the 18-story building could be brought down as early as mid-March, city officials and contractors hired by the developers on the project said at a press conference Friday afternoon.

This plan has changed so many times. It's as if no one knows what to do here.

It is not yet clear what the implosion plan means for the remains of two workers that are still trapped inside the rubble.

The reason is that the developer was trying to use the crisis to their advantage to demolish more neighboring properties and somehow walk away with a lot more real estate.

Look the city has a poor govt no one will debate that, but how is forcing the contractor to finally clean their mess up the fault of the city?

The developer tried to drag this out to turn it into a gain for him and his partners. The city had enough and rightfully so.

They should have had enough 6 weeks ago. They are letting the company yank them around for too long. They have allowed the company to waste months with this shite just sitting there.

Endymion will have to change their route. I just hope they don’t decide to use the uptown route

I don't think Endymion or Zulu have announced their changes yet. No way in hell this happens before Mardi Gras.

Already having to do so to get to convention center for ball due to Dome renovations.

Honestly, might be easier for them to get there on uptown route. Especially if they also have go go around this foolishness.
