Not from here originally, I remember the first time I walked by that bank of pay phones and finally knowing what had occurred there, I got chills.
The pay phones are gone now. It’s right by where the down escalators are located. Outside of security.

There should be an open season on pedophiles.

You csn steal and not always be a thief.
You can kill and not always be a killer.
But a child molester never changes.
Ever.

there was a 100% chance the pedophile was going to be convicted in a Louisiana court.
I believe Gary did not want to see his son go through the pain of a trial especially since the punishment wouldn't have been good enough. Whatever his regrets, he accomplished that.

And that’s why parents have a problem with these people, that end of the day have mental issues. Those same people are being allowed into schools and public libraries. This isn’t normal behavior, and that’s why 40 years ago it was dealt with. No matter how many times you tell me the sky should be purple on a clear day, people with common sense know that’s not true. How hard is it to leave children alone? These people can’t and won’t stop, because in today’s world they honestly believe what they do isn’t a problem when it involves children. Do whatever you want in an adult world, they cross the line when he/she/or whatever the frick you claim to be decides to be involved with 6 year old kids.

I see your point, but I have to submit that a life sentence at Angola would have been Hell on Earth for this man. Still, props to Mr. Plauché!

I thought I knew of all the local reporters from that era, but I don't recall this guy. He must not have been in town long. Did he catch hell from anyone for letting your dad know when Doucet was arriving?

He was a Program Director not a reporter. He was NOT on screen talent.

Well in this instance, the deceased was not convicted. I don't think he had even reached arraignment yet.
That POS didn't deserve it. He was guilty. No need for court. He got what he needed. 100% guilty put a bullet in them. World would be a much better place if we shite canned trash like that instantly.

There are a lot things worse than growing up with a father who loved me!
I do want to say that the way you have always been open about what happened, and willing to help other victims, is very admirable. I imagine you have helped more people than you know and continue to do so.
You were obviously loved and raised right with a strong father to guide you.

I asked my Dad if he remembered this story from the 80's because I was really young and don't remember. He said he knew Gary well. He said he used to rent heavy equipment from him for turnarounds. He said he had lunch with him several times and considered him a good friend. He remained friends with him after the incident and said that he never wanted to talk about what happened. My Dad did tell me that one day he told him that he would have done the exact same thing if it were his son. He said he thanked him and said he appreciated it. Not ground breaking but just wanted to share this.
