Not sure if this relates to all Asians but this Korean girl I used to know really hated being lumped in with Indians. Yeah they're not too fond of southeast Asia

It is dumb that all these vastly different people (from a physical and cultural standpoint) are lumped into one racial group.

Classifying by geography rather than phenotype and culture is just asinine.

I've been to Fremont a few times, a buddy of mine and his wife lived there for years. Was never all that impressed with the place. The last time I was there, things were headed in the wrong direction.

If you want to imagine how people in San Jose can be happy given the housing situation, imagine all the people who bought their house 30 years ago for maybe $50K, where it's now worth an average of $1.2M, but with Prop 13 they are paying taxes on an assessment that is a tiny fraction of what the house is worth. In my case, I live in Cupertino where the houses sell for far more than San Jose. My house is worth 10x the assessed value.
Now imagine familes taking advantage of the Prop 13 "add-on" law (Prop 58 1986) that allows homeowners to pass their house to their offspring without losing the tax advantage built up by the original owners. Now you can imagine that all the families that have been in the area for decades are pretty happy campers.
