Coronavirus expert says he knows when the virus 'will burn itself out

quote:

"The virus can remain intact at 4 degrees (39 degrees Fahrenheit) or 10 degrees (50 F) for a longer period of time," Nicholls said, referring to Celsius measurements, according to the transcript. "But at 30 degrees (86 degrees F) then you get inactivation. And high humidity -- the virus doesn't like it either," he added

This is the foremost expert. He was on the front lines in Hong Kong at the beginning. Those slides you see on the news, came from his lab studies

For once in my life I will welcome the oppressive heat and humidity that normally makes me feel like I'm suffocating.

I’m not sure that’s accurate as south Florida is having a flare up and it’s been almost 90 everyday for the past couple of weeks.

Link?

And define “dormant” in this context. Are you saying that the virus ceases to spread, replicate, etc., magically at 86F? Because that would be very unlikely considering that there are plenty of cases in regions were it is summer time or otherwise hot/warm/humid

And yet there are still cases in warm, humid climate world-wise.

Indonesia has one of the highest death rates in the world and its on the equator.
