Sadly, the baby was found unresponsive inside of the vehicle - outside of the daycare after the child’s guardian arrived to pick him up. The child’s guardian thought she had dropped the child off at daycare on her way to work yesterday morning, however she never did," states a press release from the TPSO. "When the female went to pick up the child yesterday afternoon, the baby was not there. She returned to her vehicle and discovered the infant in the back seat, still in his car seat. Subsequently, the child was pounced dead at the scene.

This is when the OT tells you that this would never happen to them.

So freaking sad. Poor baby. Not many things bother me more than baby's being left in a car to die. Most parents aren't POS so you know they're devestated over this. Just a terrible deal for everyone involved.

This is horrible, I hate hearing stories like this. I can only imagine what it must feel like when they found out what they've done.

The child's guardian should be locked up in a hot arse car until dead.

With God's grace he's now in a better place and was meant for a greater purpose. Be not sad, OT. This, although on the surface an outrage, is only a blessing.

Just don't understand it.

Won't say it will never happen to me, just don't understand how it could.

I just can't even begin to imagine a scenario where I forget that my child is still in the backseat of my car.. Even when my daughter is asleep I feel like I keep peeking back there every 30 seconds for no reason at all

I guess that's just another reason to have a mirror with a rear-facing carseat

According to the O.T.
It’s part of parenting, we need to accept these events. It can happen to any one of us.

Edit: according to a few

That's the exact opposite reaction you normally see in these threads.

I could see how this could happen under very unusual stressful circumstances but under normal/routine circumstances it's hard to understand how anyone could be so distracted from reality to completely forget that their child is in the back seat of the car.

One thing we stressed to our children as they were growing up is to focus on the present. Concentrate on what you are doing at that moment. One lapse of focus, for instance not looking both ways when crossing the street, can end your life.

I attribute my success to the overbearing anxiety I felt every single day.

I'll probably die early but hey you do what you have to for your kids.

Yeah, unless this woman is the most absent-minded and unobservant person in the history of the planet, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to call bullshite on this.

Every now and then, my wife will forget to sign my kids in at daycare. When I go to sign them out when picking them up and their names aren't there, I have a freak out moment.

I think about this too much for it to happen, but if somehow it did, I'd walk right into oncoming traffic.

The infant is facing you any time you look in the rear view mirror. And there is a high probability that at some point in the car ride, the infant is crying. I can understand completely spacing out and forgetting to go to daycare. But I'm not buying the bullshite that she thought she went and really didn't.

That piece of shite wanted the baby dead and used this as an excuse.
