Not an expert, and I know pulling a trigger does not take a rocket scientist, but did the AR seem to sound like it might be fully auto?

You might be hearing echo from the report of the firearm. Especially in enclosed spaces or in areas with tall buildings around, it can definitely sound like their own shots

I think every teacher and school official in America needs to see this video to be honest. It hits differently when you actually see how a school shooting unfolds and how fast it happens. The best thing would be to prevent the shooter from getting into the school to begin with because once he's inside, he unloads within seconds.
The video shows a lanky kid walking casually through the door. One armed person could have smoked him at the entryway. Yell a command to stop, no stop, bang.

Wow, it's even worse than how I envisioned it looked in my mind.
It's all in the details. Checking their phones, getting a squirt of hand sanitizer, peering out from behind walls, some fat frick sucking wind with his vest half hanging off from running 50 feet down a hallway.

Trying to wrap my head around it. You see mob violence, but never mob cowardice.
I don’t get it. “Militarization” was mentioned as to weaponry. Could military training be the cause? Seen a ton of YouTube videos where “permission to engage” is asked for. Granted most of those are pilots of helicopters. I’m not talking about Marines in Iraq being shot at fumbling around asking what to do.
I don’t get how the ALL waited for permission? Much less they themselves are vulnerable yet they wait? You’re just standing in a hallway. You hear rifle fire and you’re in a hallway.
My years of policing would be over. I and my family would move to Montana or somewhere else at the edge of a map.

Reportedly one of the cops in the hallway did have a daughter in either Room 111 or 112. She didn’t make it.
How is he not charging those doors?
It has to be the guy towards the end of the video that the fat arse keeps holding back by grabbing the back of his vest.
How the frick is guy immediately not running into the classroom? I don't get it.

was a firefighter for 6 years. I never once thought about not going into a burning building. If I responded to a school on fire with kids inside I can confidently say for 110% certainty I would run in that building without a second thought. Because I understood that’s what I signed up for.
This right here.
I mentioned I was in the fire service before. I did 5 and a half years. My 2nd year we had our first child. My children are literally the reason I'm not a firefighter anymore. I didn't think it fair to create a widow and two orphans on the chance that I may die trying to save someone else's children from danger. Because I absolutely would have put my life on the line for someone else's child as I'd hope someone would do for mine. Because that's a very real possibility in that profession, just like it is in law enforcement.
As much as I loved the profession and the people I got to know there, I had to really ask myself deep down where my priorities laid with two kids dependent upon me and like I said, I didn't think it was fair to them for me to keep going on shifts where the possibility of me never coming home was real. So, I made a career change as I was not willing anymore to lay my life down and I would have felt like I wasn't giving my all to the citizens that I served and paid my salary with their tax dollars.

I'm with you and the thoughts. It almost seems like they've trained ROE into their attack method, doesn't it? Waiting makes zero sense.

God that video is sickening and gut wrenching. Fire and arrest anyone who didn’t help. Good Lord.

Assumptions.
The whackjob was firing his weapon in a classroom full of kids. At that time leo assumed that he was shooting the kids. Could they see that? He may just have been shooting the ceiling just to scare the kids.
Speed and Shock was needed to save those kids. Any wasted second and the whackjob may actually shoot a kid. Two police to knock the door down as fast as possible and a third behind to shoot that bastard in the head.
It has to happen as quick as possible , Speed is required.
These pudknocker peckerwood police should be fired and the governor of Texas should run them out of the state.

He’s too busy lying to cover for them.

I hope not. That would make it worse.

It's tough to see what is happening at the door to the classroom in the footage, but the first few officers that get there don't have a battering ram or any other way to get into the class if it's locked. It's tough to tell if they even tried though. As soon as shots rang out they all ran back for cover.
There's absolutely no excuse for them to not breach the door and engage as soon as a ram is on the scene though.

When I watched it, I was like why won’t they let the parents go in and at least try to save their kids. Plus once they heard the shots they ran like fricking cowards. And I’m sure they heard all those kids screaming and still ran. This isn’t about them being cops, it has to do with them being human beings and STILL ran while other humans were being slaughtered. I’ll never stop believing that if I were there and could have somehow grabbed a gun and went in there. I may have been shot or even killed but if it would have save any of those kids it would have been worth it.

Being a cop is a tough profession and I don't think many on this board could handle it (putting your life on the line everyday not knowing what you will have to be asked to do in a given situation), but with all the firepower and manpower that was on scene they should have confronted the shooter much earlier, I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Before you criticize though, ask yourself if you were a cop in that situation and would you put your life on the line in any situation that calls for it?
I would have 100% gone in. Even if I wasn't successful, I would be good with knowing I took up the gunman's time and focus away from innocent children if not just for a little while.

what i dont understand is how he got into the school.
He wrecked the truck outside of it. Two cops approach the wreck and he fires at them, and they retreat back towards the school.
How in the frick did they manage to let him get by them and into the school?

The first worst part of this is the cop who had a clear shot at the gunman and didn’t shoot because he didn’t get permission.
Permission? He’s walking into a school to shoot it up. Is he like those students except he needs a shooting pass instead of a hall pass?

Those guys worked at the funeral home — that footage is from the FH camera— and were being good Samaritans. Apparently a cop had a clear shot of Ramos in the school parking lot but didn’t take it. The first reason was he was afraid of hitting kids who were outside and now it’s a clear shot but no permission from supervisor.

Here’s a nice little touch someone noticed. Look at his home screen. It’s the symbol of the Punisher. You know the guy who is completely defined by saving innocent women and children and murdering people who harm them.

I’m not familiar but nothing surprises me anymore. But have we identified Arredondo in the video yet? Is he the fat guy at the beginning of the hallway video, with a khaki shirt and dark pants, constantly fiddling with his body armor?
