Who said anything about not watching them? My wife loves them. Therefore, so do I. They are actually entertaining, but also just a touch repetitious and predictable.

My wife and I get a kick out of some of the more inane parts, or the parts where they're following the formula to a T. There's a ton of unintentional comedy.

If you have a wife who doesn't view these things as a documentaries or blueprints for how real life works, then they can be enjoyable.

The “Christmas spirit” gets a lot of mentions. I’m not a believer, but I find it funny that there isn’t anything about actual baby Jesus or religion in them.
secular = bigger audience

Has anyone mentioned they're all filmed in canada?

And one of their biggest stars is a very devout Christian, with an even more devout brother.

Exactly. Are they dumb? Sure. But you know they are going to end well, you aren't going to be dragged down and they are just good, wholesome Christmas movies. No agenda, no preaching... just... Christmas.

You forgot Lacey Chabert. Hallmark talent is a touch underrated.

Winnie Cooper is in a bunch of them.

They are kind of like the Love Boat, with the misunderstanding conflict happening sometime around the exact same time in every movie, used to be around the 40 minute mark on Love Boat, usually anywhere from 1:30 to 1:40 in a Hallmark movie.

I have a thing for attractive, Canadian actresses, so these are right up my alley.

I also identify with the dudes you know are going to get cast aside by the end.

They’re perfect for napping though. You can fall asleep towards the end of one, wake up in the middle of the next and not have missed a damn thing.

True. Same actors, same plot, different location.

"Honey, I thought they were on a Christmas tree farm."
"That was the other movie. This one, she's a doctor and he's the general handyman about town/mayor."
"Ah.. gotcha"

Wow. Some big fans of these sentimental holiday movies around here. I'll have to check one out one day.

How are these kinds of films with the sound OFF? Seems like I could be listening to some music and watch the Hallmark film with the sound turned off.

I'll be able to follow the plot with no sound, right?

My father in law is 70+, and he will have these movies on at his house during every waking hour from Thanksgiving weekend until after Christmas.

Those things are an abomination and an affront to the art of film itself.

It could work with the movie sound off and some Christmas tunes playing, especially after Thanksgiving.

I might have to be high on some pot, though.

No one in my family watches these movies. I put one on to see if my wife noticed and she started making fun of it and me.

I watch Hallmark movies when I’m cooking and don’t have to pay attention. They end the same way. What’s interesting is they show the end in every preview.

They’ve actually filmed a few of these in Fairhope. One had Jon Lovitz In it as the greedy NY banker who was trying to take over the small town coffee shop. The movie followed the formula to a T.
