This. Why would you want to work somewhere that obviously massively disapproves of pot if you enjoy it?

Probably because he is unemployed and willing to be dishonest in order to pay his bills.

Well not smoking it is the smart thing to do while it's illegal and your employer doesn't want their employees smoking.

Yes, the rules are stupid.

Weed should be legal.

Doesn't mean that you aren't risking your career trajectory if you test positive (even if they don't fire you, it's a blot to fight against for advancement).

Which is why most pump the brakes.

See now you are being unfair. I'm not saying it's the smartest thing to do in the world, but plenty of successful people smoke pot.

He's a trail blazer, man. And we are sheep for adhering to the policies of our employers. Just following the herd of people gainfully employed and not frantically Googling how to beat a drug test.

And if you worked a career that focused on your driving record, you would be foolish to speed as well.

Shaving your head won't help. They will get a hair sample from somewhere on your body. You could try a complete body shave. But you are busted.

i dont have any problem with that. hell if it was legal, i would probably smoke it myself. I have been through 3 major back surgeries and i have heard that it helps with nerve damage pain. But im not so much of an idiot that I would compound my problems by smoking pot and then have to deal with/worry about all of the things that are associated with it being illegal.

I just cant imagine what people are thinking every time they have to meet with a drug dealer, hide to smoke it, lie and cheat to attempt to pass drug tests, and constatnly worry about being arrested or losing your job. despite possibly being able to get away with it....i would feel like such a piece of shite.

It cant possibly be that good and worth all of that, can it?

That's pretty cool of them. Unlike the OP, you get to eat your pot brownie and have it too.

It will be interesting to see how the employment side of legalization is handled, especially when it is fully implemented. I have a feeling you will be in the minority, and there will be a lot of people disappointed when their employer continues with the ban on use. I bet there will be some who will increase efforts for detection.

That's a really odd position. The only young professional I know who habitually smokes dope is a lawyer. I don't know anybody else who I would call a professional who smokes dope.
