Imagine being a fig with these on your roof and having to deal with this. "At least I'll break even in 30 years after the government pays for almost all of it".

What poster was it that said it was basically impossible to damage solar panels?

We were told this by the sales guy when he was trying to get our land in N Louisiana.

I told him to pound sand but several of our property neighbors signed up.

Not trying to be a troll but has a coal plant been destroyed by a hail storm. I'll add nuclear too since it's "cleaner"

And don't forget, used solar panels are considered hazadrous waste due to the heavy metals used in their construction...

Not sure, but I passed a huge one being built northwest of Dallas that had containers with GE all over them. Panels weren't installed yet, just the frames. That area was hit by tennis ball sized hail a few weeks ago as well.

Most of them are pretty tough but utility scale projects have been known to use some non tier 1 Chinese junk.

Texas, the only place I’ve ever seen the ground covered like snow with hail.

Those containers were the power control units. It houses the inverters, transformers, etc.

It should be against the law to use good farm land for a solar farm.

Yikes. I prefer to let land owners decide what they want to do with their property.

So converting a gazillion acres of viable land to solar panel farms has potential drawbacks???? I'm shocked.

And relying on energy generated by the weather has the potential to be affected adversely by the weather?!

Scary to think what a direct hurricane hit on one of those wind farms out in the ocean would result in. A lot more than the dead birds and whales we see now.

Many auto dealerships in Texas have covers over their outside inventory vehicles to protect them from hail damage. Why not have covers over these solar farms? I bet that's something AOC could get behind.

I've seen a lot of carport type parking using bifacial modules now. Nice little bump in production from them and its probably the only time they look kinda cool.
