Yep, had his head in my lap as my daughter did the deed. One hour he was up and moving good. When to call him in to feed him and saw he was screwed up bad. Just knew it right there and then. Just sucks the big one.

Like I said, he went peaceful. I thanks God for that.

Maybe you should go find a rescue or something to adopt after you have had a while to get over losing this one.

Adopted ours from petsmart 16 years ago. Once a week PM would bring in some rescued/abused dogs. My dad picked the weirdest one but he turned out to be a great dog. Turned 17 last week. I'm sure this may be his last winter even though he seems to be very healthy.

16+ years old. He was a great dog that earn his keep many times over. Pooch was a real laid back, loving dog. Bad part of this, 16 years ago, I wanted to just shoot his arse as a drop off. My daughter beg me not to do it.

My daughter is a Vet and she did the deed.

Im very sorry to hear that. Your dog living 16 years is AWESOME. You were a great owner, and I know exactly how hard that is. One of the worst days of my life was earlier this year when I had to put my dog down. I think about her all the time. Tough as shite to get over, but we're lucky we had such a thing to begin with.

This is a prime example of how important punctuation is...

I don't want to talk shite about your dog..!

But in all seriousness, I want to offer my super condolences, I've been there... not in a long time, but it's a feeling that doesn't leave you.

You know what they say about getting over a dog... get a new one... I'm not even kidding.

So sorry for you. How lucky your Pooch was to have someone like you to love him for 16 years. And how blessed you were to have him.

I had to put my wife's dog down earlier this year.

Hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Stupid phone posted...

Put my boston terrier down last a year and a half ago. He was 14 and I got him in college when he was 6 months old. I had to take the day off of work. I cried like a baby. It sucks, but I wouldn't trade the 14 years I had with him for anything

Yet you gave him a great life. Funny how things like that work
