I can't believe I have to say this but you don't get to, and shouldn't want to, shoot people for walking up to your door unless they are obviously attempting a break in.

and no, a guy walking up to your door at 430AM is not on its own obviously attempting a break in

If I had a loved one working that shift I'd suggest they wear a plate carrier, these days.

Thanks to the local shite bag population, almost everyone is on alert for those snooping around where they don't belong after dark.....

When they make an “overnight” delivery, it clearly says so on the website/app after you order. So not a random surprise.

It is- and not just from homeowners mistaking them for criminals.

Agree since many now are dropping packages off at my door in their own personal automobiles. Would be nervous if was a driver doing this in the ghetto. I do like getting the item early the next day after an order previous day though.

They oughta get a side-gig as process servers.

Those deputies like to show up at 5:30 and wake up everybody in the house.

I've had packages delivered 2 AM before

They use a lot of those contractor drivers in their personal vehicles where I live and my theory is people working two jobs have a day shift in their other gig then deliver packages in the middle of the night. I respect the hustle.

Ive noticed on the last couple things Ive ordered, I will have an option for a 4-8am delivery, 11-4 delivery or regular prime delivery. Ill usually select the regular prime and a couple times the package was delivered before 8am.

Depending on what we order, we can get it delivered from 4am to 8am, overnight. Or same day 8 to 5. The wife takes advantage of it too. Just needs to be over $25 and that ain't hard for her.

Can't lie, I enjoy the convenience too.

I selected that 4-8am option one time, not thinking twice. Startled the shite out of me when our phones started loudly chiming with Ring “there’s a person at your front door” notifications at 4:17am. Never again

Happens a lot for me lately. Even when I place the order it immediately says estimated deliver time and it’s between midnight and 3:00am. Makes sense before less traffic means more efficient for them. Also cooler for the drivers given the summer heat.

Maybe they are just getting an early start on deliveries.

Or late in getting it delivered the day before.

Since c19 they promise a date and time but can be 24 to 48 hours later.

Did the same to me a couple of weeks ago. Delivered at 3:55 am, woke up everyone. Good way to get shot if you ask me.

Amazon delivery is the least consistent, but I have had good luck when I pay the extra for 4-8am overnight deliveries.

But for regular stuff, if it’s going to be late, they don’t formally inform you until the last minute even if it’s obvious earlier in the logistics chain. And they often came later than their original delivery window on typical deliveries compared to FedEx and UPS.

Amazon used to have this side gig job thing near the distribution centers where you could deliver a few parcels and make side money. Just like DoorDash.

Don’t know if they still do that, but it could be a side gig person getting in a few deliveries before their 8-4.
