I've had 4 acquaintances from high school die in the last 6 months. We are 24/25. All from heroin overdoses.

Getting older is strange. You can't believe it until it's you. I'm 44 and I feel lucky. But I take every day as a blessing. I hope the drugs keep me alive. God bless you all.

My best friend of 20+ years died the week after Xmas, he was 40 with a 6 year old son. Very successful career wise as well.
My grandpa died Saturday night, he was 84.
My SO (38 yo) and I (41 yo) have lost a combined total of 4 grandparents, 2 uncles, 1 parent, best friend, and my dog who was a week away from being 14, plus 2 other fairly close relatives (hers) in the past 4 years. Oh and I have another uncle who had a massive stroke and is in the nursing home.
I'm sick of fricking funerals and the vultures that come out looking for shite when someone dies. Disgusting.

My crew from High School turned 50 last year and we lost two guys out of my class.
One to melanoma and another really good friend of mine to a hereditary liver disease.
Sucks getting old

You are correct. Life is a flashlight dream. I really want to get right with God. I'm not going through Jesus, I'm going straight to the source. I know that we are all cosmic sperm. We can rub against anything we want to. We can take breaks, outside of everything. But it's too quiet and lonely.
Yeah sorry about the dead people but I don't know what the frick this above me means.

I'm 44. It's crazy. I really take 70 years for granted.. I hope I have 15 more.
Death is just an illusory shadow cast by the ego which isn't real. You are pure consciousness. When you "die" you simply go back to the place you were before you were born and continue on either on this Earth plane or some other plane in some other form of existence.

Key to life and transcendence. Good luck man. I am on the same path.

A woman I went to school with when I was young just had an aneurysm followed shortly thereafter by a stroke earlier this week. She passed away at 32 leaving behind a young daughter. In doing shite like retirement planning with our financial adviser, I always just assume that I will live past 70 because 3 of my grandparents made it into their 90's and I just assume I'd at least make it to 80. But shite like this happens and, man, it really makes me take a step back.

Sad man. I hope for your sanity that a couple of them died being stupid. Not even trying to sound like a dick. As a nurse who has seen a whole lot of dead, it's the first thing we look for when dealing with a patient our own age who has died.
And if it was stupid actions or decisions, I hope you aren't doing the same.
Sorry for your loss.

I'm 30 with an 18 month old and another on the way. My biggest fear now is not being there as my kids grow up. As reckless as I was before them, now that thought plays a factor in every decision I make.
I'm 35 with a 1 year old and this is my biggest fear as well. My #1 goal in life is living to my daughters wedding.
