Has anyone done any due diligence on this? I mean i tend to think a guy that's been around this long wouldn't attempt to defraud a ton of people's generosity. The guy has a post history at least. Hopefully he's not jerking everyone around for some money.

Eric Zappe ($1,500), Robert Richardson ($896), LC412000 ($500), and Texn ($350) all deserve a shout out. Over $3,000 given by 4 people. That's true OT Baller status right there.

I soooooo want to say "Hold my beer...."

Can't swing that much right now, but if we can get some gift ideas for the kids, I'll be happy to help that way, too.

His story matches his post history as well as the fb post of his wife’s sister from about midnight last night. He’s been around a while and pretty open about himself. There hasn’t been 100% confirmation, but everything points to its legitimacy at this point.

When my son died, they asked me what funeral home right away. It is a shock when you have never even considered your love one suddenly dying. Hell I didn't even know any funeral homes and had to ask the hospital staff for a recommendation.

Next day, I had to go to the funeral home and was in no state of mind to be ready to do it. And I understand from the funeral homes perspective, but they don't do anything until payment has been figured out. Lucky for my family I had enough to cover the funeral, but if I had not, the stress would have felt like Mount Everest sitting on top of my chest.

When my mother died (I was there in the hospital for her final breath), we had to make funeral arrangements. My father was beyond grief; my aunt (mom's sister) and myself were handling everything. I was very glad that my father had no money issues to compound on top of all that. My mother was chronically ill and it still hit him like a sledgehammer to the face.

People found their Facebook pages and various family member Facebook pages and found posts confirming it. No reason to expect it isn’t legit. This is before the gfm went bonkers.

Frequent visitor to O-T, but rarely post. When I clicked the link to Go Fund Me, my heart dropped. People are amazing.

God bless you and your family during this time of sorrow.

Sorry for your loss OP. Will keep you and your children in my prayers. Suicide is not the answer. I know it's tough, but your kids need you now more than ever. Keep your head up and keep trucking along. God bless
