Exactly. And even if it wasn't legit, GoFundMe would refund everyone and the creator could be punished for fraud.

Showed up to site at 5k.
...This site takes a lot of crap but to be able to give to a stranger like that is amazing.
This is the good in the world that everyone keeps looking for.

I imagine he raised more than enough money for a proper burial. I don't believe anything malicious is going on as some have suggested. Maybe he just saw the amount and felt comfortable enough to take it down.

Yeah, I have no reason to doubt him. He was very open about his life and what he was going through when he had COVID. The sad irony from back then, just a few short months ago, was that I believe I recall him saying then that he didn't have life insurance and was worried he might actually die. I know several of us encouraged him to get some....of course, never imagining we'd actually be here today. Of course, since then, it sounds like the work part of his life has been rocky, so that doesn't help things. Can't win for losing situation.

Probably... though I hope he lets us help more. Like gifts for his kids, though I can certainly understand if he would rather not.

This is probably what happened. I imagine it also might take a bit to find the right words for him when he comes back to post, I think I would be overwhelmed not at the money but from the show of support from TD and SEC Rant

Agree. Can't even imagine.. especially right before Christmas. But this place is awesome. I know we all support different teams and rag on each other about everything, but the majority of posters here are good people who would give you the shirt off their back. Praying for OP

I'll peruse this later on and see if anything comes to mind. Obviously, I'd want to know that he's okay with us doing this, too. I'm sure the last 24 hours has been a lot to take in, so I'll give it a little bit.
