I remember reading a few years ago about a fellow in South Africa who raised an orphan hippo baby. Grew close to the little fellow, swam with him in a pond, actually thought of him as kind of a son.

Many people warned the man about what might eventually happen, but the man thought the hippo and him were close buds forever and the hippo would never harm him.

One day the man got into the pond to swim with his hippo pal. The hippo killed him.

In the early 1900s they wanted to bring hippos to Louisiana and put them in the spillway. Would make it a little harder to fish for sacs if you had to worry about getting busted by a hippo.

Not to mention what a few hundred or so hippos would do to crawfish prices.

Deadliest mammal. Crocodiles, snakes and mosquitos are technically deadlier.

They should have said most aggressive. Hippos are notorious aggressive towards humans. Getting to a point where you’re already on a Zambian safari without knowing this is irresponsible.

I hate this shite. You went to Africa, sorry you might get killed by a large animal.

That’s only your fault.

Sad, but it's an inherently dangerous activity.

But does the actual safari company not have some sort of responsibility to ensure their customers don't die?

America and Africa are different.

Same with you dying in Qatar building a stadium for the World Cup. Good luck to the families ever collecting on that shite.
