Guy films his experience with OceanGate right before the doomed sub expedition.

26 minute video
SIAP
TLDW:
Guy was on the ship with the doomed passengers. Sounds like he was going to be in the next titanic dive after the doomed one.
He did go on a test dive with the sub before where they had communication issues and surfaced.

Never seen more people obsessed with dying.

Wow that is scary. Hard to imagine how that guy feels. On the one hand he probably feels quite lucky, but hopefully he doesn't feel guilty about feeling that way.

He should buy lottery tickets with that luck

I've actually watched a few of his videos previously, so this came up as a suggested video yesterday and Mrs. Cotten and I watched it. Pretty eerie.
He definitely has a few pretty cool diving videos; dude finds guns, knives, grenades, etc. fairly often.

I may have gotten to the boat part but once I saw that I would not have gone through with it, I would have definitely chickened out

He has over 13 million subs. Dude prob makes that in a month. Plus makes you wonder if OceanGate reached out to him for publicity and a free ride. They reached out to Mr. Beast to come on the sub too.

No he didn't. They never detached from the platform and went maybe 10 feet down while still on the platform before calling off the dive.

Hell naw on bolting me a coffee can with 5 others.
At 23:55, "What are you using to control this submarine?"
guy holds up a NES controller.

So they towed that POS sub all the way out there and on the platform is where all maintenance occurred?

Frick you, no way I would climb in that metal tomb….

That video shows just how problematic that sub was. It was one issue after another. There’s no way in hell I would have gotten in that thing.

To me, the most fascinating part of this whole deal is the number of people who, apparently, knew that thing was a deathtrap. Apparently, they knew the first time they laid eyes on it. It was obvious. Everyone who got in or took any kind of trip on it is now saying how bad it was.
Yet, none of them thought enough of it to speak up before that grape popped. They just carried on letting people pay their $250k. Curious.

Didn’t it nevertheless make several successful trips to the Titanic wreckage?
