I hated having to wear a gun everywhere. That is part of the reason I left.

WTF? It's your duty to take personal responsibility for your safety, and the safety to those in your party. Did you only hate it because you couldn't get to a BAC that made you fun to be around?

FFS, you're clearly a fan of a decent rifle round (308), yet you complain about getting to carry a gun? What planet is this?

I lived within walking distance of there for 3 years and the thought never crossed my mind that it may have been unsafe at anytime of the day or night, but that was 40 years ago. It makes me sad to see what has happened to that neighborhood.

It’s sad how normalized the crime has become. Every Business and citizen should be calling the Mayor’s office complaining. She should be called out at every public appearance. The city is almost lost at this point. Yeah, the “almost” part is up for debate at this time.

Someone should collect money for billboards along the interstate like has been done for football games issues to bring attention to crime and tie the crime to her political record.

It's sad how normalized not having responsibility for your own situational awareness or self protection has become, regardless of where you live.

But-

Crime has been normalized for over 20 years in BTR. This is not a surprise.

again, I'll wager heavily the criminals here should already have been locked up and not walking freely amongst us.... enforce existing laws... to the people that say we have too many incarcerated... here is yet another example of NO we don't have NEARLY enough incarcerated.

When will the powers at LSU say enough is enough and start holding the current administration’s feet to the fire. Just good ole shoot out 100 yards from LSU property and main roads to campus. It’s gotten completely out of hand and LSU will start
To suffer guaranteed

I loved in Tigerland in the late eighties. It was fine. Mostly students. Man, we’ve come a long way. After three semesters of living in a REALLY “secure” place in Burbank, my daughter just transferred mid year to another in state school. I was thrilled. Despite being an LSU alum, I HATED her being there. It’s out of control. At some point we’re gonna run out of places to go to escape the mayhem. At some point we’re gonna have to fight to restore order in this shithole of a country were becoming.
