La will not get 18.7 billion. It's for 4 states.

Not all will go to coastal restoration.

So, when do I get my check? Cuz, I needa get paid for my sufferin' I had while that oil was gushin'. I couldn't sleep at night, so I had to sleep durn the day so I hadta quit my job and my food stamp allotment just don't cut it no more! See, durin' that time I couldn't sleep, I developed this ailment that I gotta eat steak every day. Doctor says it ain't real but frick that Cracker! I needs my steak so I need my check!

Louisiana will piss away that money. No bridges, no fixed roads, no $ towards education.

it's all going to end up in politicians pockets. god damn, our state is corrupt.

That will not happen, but most of the money will go there.

according to buddy's presser, that's in addition to the 6.8 billion the state will receive.

ETA: do we think this will get paid? or will BP file bankruptcy and get bought out/up?

Your headline is wrong, BP settled with the US govt. for 18.6 billion. La. gets 8.6 billion of that. That number is broken down further in the article.
