30A is overrated. I would not recommend anyone go there.

I had the best damn time driving these trails last week. Pretty sure I was trespassing near Deer Lake, but my face hurt due to perma grin. I came out damn near across the street from the road to our rental house. I got some great photos, and I even had the wife doing donuts and bushwaking in my truck. I have to go back soon to pick up my YOLO board from the repair shop, and I may even try the primitive camping area.

30A is not as snobby as many with small penis complexes are making it out to be.

Orange Beach/Gulfshores isn't as bad as many claim either. It just doesn't have near the shopping/restaurants/nice bars that the area from Destin down to 30A has.

The flora-bama is not some great bar that should be held up in some high regard either. There is only so much of that rah rah look at me in my LSU/Bama/Auburn shirt that I can put up with.

I usually hit the beaches the week before or after Memorial Day and have stayed all along the coast and really haven't seen a whole lot of trashy people during that time and the crowds have never been a factor.

Pensacoula near the main public beach and up on the boardwalk is the only place I've noticed a shitty trashy crowd.

What do you drive? I bought a '83 full-size Bronco this Spring, but haven't been out on the trails at all yet. You hit any of the reds?

LOL!

No. I have one Nat Nast belt I wear with everything. T-shirt and leather saddles. Don't tuck my shirt. Always wear an old Masters hat but don't own sunglasses. My hair is worthless. Baby thin after a second bout with cancer so I just wear the hat all the time.

I hit most of the reds east of 395, I would have hit them all but I didn't have this specific map. I was on trails not on that map also, but that was trying to get back to 30a. I was lucky not to destroy my truck as well, I got scared when the rear end got loose one time and got out of the gas...luckily there were no trees on that section because I went way off of the trail.

They did a million upgrade to that place yet it's still surrounded with port-a-cans.

I'm glad to see that none of you effers have found my favorite spot yet. I hope it remains too far away for Gumps, Mt. Gumps and Corny dog folks.

We rented this beast last week and it was super nice. It's down by the Deer Lake outlet, so for a ways east the beach is desolate.

Destin for me. However, we stay in a high rise that was built in the 1980's. Therefore, the high rise has a lot of beach and only a few units. The new high rise next to us has a tiny beach with a ton of units. Therefore , even during crowded times, our beach is wide open while the next door over looks like Woodstock .

I practically grew up in OB and have two family places there. That said there is no comparison with 30A after you get past Destin. Better beaches more back woods trails. Better inshore fishing. Fantastic dune lakes for freshwater fishing and yakking. Better eating. Bars are bars.
Frankly ob is overbuilt and overcrowded. 30A is getting that way but for someone looking to own property that's where I'd buy if I didn't already have a place in OB.
For really great fishing and fantastic uncrowded beaches we go to the state park cabins at cape San Blas when we can get a reservation and have the time.
