I'm sure everyone has seen the articles on social media regarding the $130,000 pricetag for $22,000 mobile home units.
But just in case you haven't

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is spending an estimated $129,200 for the purchase, transport and installation of each "manufactured housing unit" placed on the private property of a flood victim, according to a document provided to a Louisiana congressman. If the unit is placed in an already existing commercial park for mobile homes and travel trailers, then the cost increases to $149,000, because of the extra expense to lease the site pad. And if the mobile homes are placed in FEMA designated group sites, then the price can rise as high as $170,000

Half the price of that would restore my mom's house pre flood.

No shite. Just give my elderly parents $40k and they could have fixed their house up.
Had to sell it for next to nothing and will have to rent until they are ready for the nursing home I guess.

But the government doesn't have enough money, though. Need to raise taxes.

It's not surprising considering that the state was paying $15k for a temporary sink, toilet, cleanup, window unit, and half-arse electrical and plumbing.

Trump will fix this crap

How much can I get to deliver them? That's the real question.
Posted on 12/12/16 at 9:08 pm to meauxjeaux2
Sign me up. I can deliver two a week and hunt the remainder. STOKED!!!

It's almost comical how ineffective and wasteful our government is. Fema could have given me half that money, let me buy my own trailer 4 months ago, and use the rest to have begun renovations. Ohh well, hopefully we will get in our FEMA trailer next week. It's only taken 4 months.

One can hope but there is so much to do and so many who do not want it fixed. This shite doesn't just happen without somebody somewhere making money off it. They aren't burning $100s at the mobile home making place.
