The key was to get REALLY good at a game most people didn't care about.

I was the King Pooba of Gyruss!

I caught the tail end of the arcade phase in the late 80s, but the GOAT was the two-man Jurassic Park shooter booth, circa '94.

Holy shite

1) I had to do a double take to make sure that wasnt a picture of me
2) then a triple take to be sure that I didnt know anyone in this picture
3) that E.T shirt is badass, I should know I'm 100% certain I had that exact one

Fun Arcade on Vets in Metairie was there in the 70's before video games...

Was there through the 80s too. One of my best memories from childhood was walking the 2+ miles each way with my uncle from old metry and spending like 2 dollars there. Then going get a fresh sandwich at dorignacs.

Same for me around 98-00 I remember saving a crazy amount of tickets that I spent on a University Texas basketball at the hammond square mall.

It's called a cocktail cabinet, son.

And life was pretty much all downhill after this era.

The kid in the green actually resembles me at that age, and my brother and I both had the ET shirt. I'll have to dig up pics tomorrow.

I don't know anyone who's ever gotten to the end to see if the stripper ever actually stripped her clothes off....

Or the later arcades in the early 90s. I spent boat loads of money on the original Mortal Kombat and X-Men at Aladdin's Castle in the Acadiana Mall in Lafayette.
