Any of you baws tried this yet?

Introduction to Grounding VIDEO

Peer Reviewed Study

quote:

Summary of findings to date

Grounding appears to improve sleep, normalize the day–night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, reduce stress, shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation, increase heart rate variability, speed wound healing, and reduce blood viscosity. A summary has been published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health.4
Effects on sleep

One of the first published grounding studies examined the effects of grounding on sleep and circadian cortisol profiles.5 The study involved 12 subjects who were in pain and had problems sleeping. They slept grounded for 8 weeks using the system shown in Figure 4. During this period, their diurnal cortisol profiles normalized, and most of the subjects reported that their sleep improved and their pain and stress levels declined.

Did you read the scientific studies?

And we do absorb energy. Are you retarded?

I'm always open to new, non-traditional, and even wacky, medical/nutritional/health ideas.

I'm reading this article, which discusses some of those 2012/2015 articles' authors.

although i go barefoot most of the time, I'm leaning toward quackery on this one.

Ignore the article.

i'm going to spend some time on this one, mainly because that female doctor is hot.

but f'real, i am working on some health blog articles on trendy/weird health stuff: quackery (e.g., occicilium, blood-type diets, alkaline water) v. may have some validity (ACV) v. totally legit (broccoli sprouts).

We'll see where grounding falls, to coin a phrase.

I think the term is intentional grounding.

Ive not lost connection. Except for the occassional flights, gravity still has me connected to the planet. However, I see there are some who have clearly lost connection.

Grounding only works if you sleep alone, otherwise there is always a receiver in the area.

So just walked around barefoot on bare Earth is grounding? How long do I have to do this?

I always go barefoot in the grass in my yard and my stress levels are higher now than they've ever been.

Of course I recently started a higher stress job, work on my MBA at night, and my wife is pregnant. But other than that, I've got nothing to stress about.

I stopped watching at "I grew up around Native Americans and hung out in their Teepees"

Also, this is a legit FAQ from that website:

quote:

3. Would it be considered Grounding to plug something into the ground port of a wall electrical outlet, for instance, a wire and wrap it around your ankle or wrist?

Don't do it! Unless you are an electrician or an electrical engineer, it is highly recommended not to "experiment" with plugging "something" into a wall electrical outlet. First and foremost, it is unsafe to plug a bare wire into an electrical ground in any case. An outlet should always be checked to see if it is properly grounded. All the authorized Grounded Therapy products are specifically designed for safe, biological grounding of people. They have built-in resistors that limit the flow of current in order to prevent the unlikely possibility that electricity would flow through the connecting wire and possibly hurt someone. They allow the Earth's natural energy to come through but not any potentially harmful electricity. In this respect, the resistor acts like a "kink" in a hose. Grounded products for personal grounding have built-in protection similar to the systems utilized in industry throughout the world to prevent electricity and static from damaging sensitive electronic parts.

The beach/ocean is possibly the best place as not only are sand and salt water extremely conductive, but salt water is also very high in magnesium. Perhaps this is why many people seem to sleep better on vacation at the beach!

Or because they get a ton of sun and drink a lot?

I mean, come on.

Sounds like crack pot stuff.

I know someone that tried something like this.

It was with a special sheet that had metal threads in it and it was connected to one of those anti static clips and then you would connect it to an electrical outlets ground plug.

Talk about a shocker if somewhere an electrician screwed up or a lightning strike on the electrical system.

I know a local retired doctor and he never wears shoes. Even when he is mowing grass or its 30 degrees out. I'll drive by and there is the Doc, barefoot. I guess he believes in this?
