RIP. Really enjoyed her posts. I remember it blowing my mind when I first learned she was a woman.

How sad to hear of this. GG was always a great poster and taught me a thing or two about cooking on the FDB. Rest in peace!

Hell, I read her obituary and she was an attorney! Never gave off that vibe to me.

Her handle means “gray gray” in Spanish, I’m always curious how people get their TD usernames

Gris will be sorely missed. She was the best..

Condolences to her family and loved ones. She was a good poster. Reading her obit, seems like she was a good person too. May she rest in peace.

She was a sweet lady.

Gave me a great tomato/basil soup recipe many years ago.

I don’t post hardly at all on the food board, but I lurk a bit. Gris Gris was the first name I usually look for. She left her mark!

You'd think a gumbo guy would have some idea of what gris gris is.

Played many bringhurst scrambles with you and your brother back in the day. Y’all would let me ride to burger kang for lunch with your posse.

In the Cajun context, gris gris (pronounced gree-gree) most often refers to a magical spell or curse, particularly associated with Voodoo, though it can also refer to a good luck charm or amulet, similar to its origins in West African cultures and its usage in New Orleans Creole traditions. While the word's roots involve Islamic amulets for warding off evil, in Louisiana, it has become strongly linked to either curses or protective charms.

Great F&D board poster. Hate hearing this. Did I read the obit correct that her mother is still alive? Wow.
