So legally how does this work? Obviously they have the constitutional right to protest. But there are state/local laws in place to make sure it's permitted. Do they actually have a right to shut down a major interstate? Is there supreme court precedent for something like this?

Most "PROgressives" can not function beyond stage-one thinking. Kind of like those buying Priuses (Prii?) because they do not need as much precious fossil fuels, yet ignore the need for more electricity to charge the batteries, the mining of the materials for said batteries, and the waste when discarding the spent batteries....

No, you do not have a right to block traffic on the I-10 bridge no matter how much your feelings are hurt.
If they do this they should be run over and treated like roadkill. Traffic is bad enough as it is. High time we stop kowtowing to these types, bop them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and say “NO!”

Even on some weekends that bridge can be a heavy with a lot of traffic.
Protesters plus all the people taking vacations driving thru BR to go to Florida, chemical Plant bros going to or from work, and 18 wheeler traffic on the bridge will mean speed bumps.
