Outside festival in late May? And I have to go to the banana republic of crime ridden NOLA and pay a premium to park? Hard pass.

I’ve been a couple of times and enjoyed it okay, but it’s kind of overrated IMO.
I’m a bit biased though because I’ve been to Greek festivals in Chicago so it’s an unfair comparison.

We go every year - thanks for helping to keep the crowd size down.
Free parking with a short shuttle bus ride or long walk, and Lake Vista is not exactly a hotbed of crime.
@ Legion of Doom - I haven't done the 5k since they moved it from late afternoon to morning. A bit too hot for that. We'll be there late afternoon today.

Was pissed that they moved the 5k from Friday night to Saturday morning. I haven’t done the race in a couple of years. Thought I heard on the news that we were getting a “cool” front this weekend and signed up. I played myself.

Did you find it much less crowded than usual?

And LOL at the dude throwing shade at an awesome festival with free parking. FYI- they charge admission; that keeps a lot of the riff raff out.

It’s in one of the palest, more affluent areas of the city directly on Bayou St John at a Greek Orthodox Church. You aren’t getting shot

Houston's was last weekend. But with Niko Niko's and Phoenicia in town, it's not as special as it would be in a food desert like Louisiana.

Ended up going and it was a good time!

This was amazing.
Then went inside and made it to the 3rd row for the Hellenic dancers. Grabbed some pastries to go and listened to a few songs from the stage before heading out.
Was a blast and everyone there was really laid back and nice.
