I'm sure they're nice communities. But, I'd have to travel into Dallas, which I hear is a brutal commute. Even compared to BR.

Plus, I don't like the Dallas vibe. At all.

Dallas proper vibe and burbs are two different things.

Any major city will have traffic, but it's nothing compared to Houston, Austin, Chicago, or L.A.

Ok. Pre-breakfast rant reply, so my apologies in advance.

These kind of posts bother me and here's why. Why don't you (this means those in your position) change the system where you live now instead of weakening someone else's place by moving there? With this type of attitude, before long, there won't be any great places to live, work, & raise a family.

Where's the best place for______? only means you're not helping but siphoning. It does only take one person to effect change.

Again, my apologies. Make your home better is always my advice, but I totally get your question. I am prepared for all the upvotes!

Eta. Some one got this with the one uovote

Hendersonville or Franklin, Tennessee. Both just outside of Nashville. Great school districts. Close to lakes and mountains. Downtown is actually safe to walk around at night. Got some pro sports teams. You can watch SEC teams play at Vandy for cheap.

Edit: Someone really hates Tennessee since they have downvoted every post suggesting it

You can only do so much with terrible scenery, humid weather 9 months out of 12, terrible leadership & planning.

try one of the emerging areas in the Austin/San Antonio metroplex that is developing, like San Marcos

My sister has been in Austin and then the surrounding areas for 25 years. I've visited many times and just find that area meh for everything except for certain types of jobs and BBQ. Otherwise, it's extremely hot with not much to do as far as the living aspect of the op.

Like others have said, look into Fort Worth. I know what you mean. Dallas is hectic. The wife and I moved to Fort Worth a few years ago, from Alabama, and we love it. Cost of living is significantly cheaper than Dallas, and it's way more laid back.

The frick are you talking about? You can move to a place and make it better by being a productive citizen. Unless you're a professional pan handler, this comment makes no fricking sense.

I think he wants you to stay where you are and make the area better and more inviting. How? I don't know.

This is what I'm talking about, negative nancy. Be a positive pete!

Bad scenery = investment opportunity!
Humid = great complexion!
Stupid government = job opportunity

Take the frustration and channel it into something good?

My husband and I agreed that if we were ever to move states, it would be to Tennessee or the PNW.

No. Just born there. Dad was military. To your point though, I got hired out of college and stayed in this place and made family. I'm considering buying my mom's place from my family she passes and fixing it up for split time. I like the people there, climate, food, but yeah, things need changing.

While becoming Batman and making my native city a better place would be awesome, I simply don't have the time. This guy is an idiot.

What tha? I typed what I meant. Most people don't fix things when they run away from problems. Yes you can move somewhere and be that great new neighbor. Whatever.

I'll move my fist to your face and see how good of neighbors they are. Sonic somewhere between here and Louisiana, I'll Google maps, one sec.
