Man this is tough and I'm still in shock. I went to work, but I came back around 9 to pick something up and found her on the couch. She was 11.5 years old and the best dog I've ever had. I fell terrible for my other dog. He's lost and looking for his girl.

Sorry to hear...

She had a strong run. 11.5 years is a long life for a big dog... Sounds like she went out in peace...

We had two labs, one was 14 and one was 12, we had to put the 14y/o down in March, and put the 12y/o down in November.. Tough thing...

That's a good long life for a great dane. It is hard and I'm sorry for your loss. When the time's right, get another one. It helps.

I will probably get another, but I'm gonna wait a little while.

I was just unexpected. She was fine this morning before I left work. I'm guessing she had a heart attack. That's the only thing I can think of.

Your dog dying is like losing a family member. It sucks but get a new one and you'll remember all the good times.

Lost mine to cancer when he was 8. He was a fantastic dog. I can't bring myself to get another one because they aren't here long enough.

I'm waiting. Wife and kids want another... The last year was really rough with vet bills and watching my hunting baby suffer her last few years...

So right now I'm good... But things could change later. Don't make any decisions based on feelings you may regret later.

I love dogs, especially a good Lab, but dogs are a huge commitment...

Sorry to hear. It'll take about a week before things start to return semi normal. My boy passed away about 3 months ago. Still miss him from time to time but the pain os mostly gone now. Just now starting to think about getting another one but it'll probably be about another 6 months before I do.

Yeah they can get expensive. Just spent a fortune getting my American Bulldog checked out for seizures. Emergency Vets are stupid expensive.

Man, that is a shame. Sorry for your loss, and the companion for your other dog.

Prayers to you, my buddy. I lost both of my Danes last year. Sweetest, best dogs imaginable.

Sorry to hear, out great Dane is 8, and even though he's still as spry as ever, I know we're about to enter bonus time. I hate even thinking about what you're dealing with.

Sorry about losing your dog. Living 11.5 years for a big dog like that is not normal from what I've heard.

I've buried almost all my animals over the years but I wouldn't want to dig that hole
