thats a pretty weak bulk

I’d wager most guys on a bulk in a gym (even those guys who the OP wouldn’t consider “big” or “perfect” or whatever) are eating 3000 calories.

Also, this applies to anything. You think the guys running top companies, pro athletes, etc don’t have to live lifestyles very different from normal to achieve what they do?

That's a lot of mental gymnastics to justify laziness! In all seriousness, it's not all that complicated to stay in shape and it doesn't require OCD level discipline, although I agree that there are many who take it to the extreme.
Staying active and fit generally gives you more energy and improves your mental well being. Being healthier and happier is a good thing.

People are driven and if they were not, many many successful companies would not exist. Hell, they wouldn’t have the Mr. Universe competition.

It's hard work for a normal person.

A clean diet can accomplish a lot to take some of the work out of it to reach certain goals.

People like to over complicate it IMO.

ETA: I am a former fatty and it's not as hard as you are making it out to be.

This.

Treat your workout every morning like a job.

Set your alarm for whatever time

Go to your gym or go for your run, get your workout in

Then carry on.

It doesn’t have to be a production.

If your deal is to workout at lunch or after work, so be it. Just do what makes you happy and don’t do it to try and impress anyone.

You can’t live your life trying to make other people happy, you have to make yourself happy.

Genetics can play a huge role. My college roommate was 6'2, a lean 230 and ridiculously built. Just jacked, period.

He worked out, but like 3 times a week for an hour or 2. About 5 hours per week spent in the gym. And he ate whatever whenever. Lot of tostinos cheap pizza.

I've been a gym rat working out 5-6 times a week and watching everything i ate to get as big as I could and lean at the same time.

But I've also gone 6 months without looking at a weight, eating pizza literally 5 times a week, going out boozing regularly, etc. And my waist size stayed the same, I would lose 10 lbs of muscle and gain 5 lbs of fat and still have an athletic build and look in shape. Doing nothing for 6 months or a year.

Genetics play a big role.

I do literally none of these things, and am probably in better shape than all of your real or hypothetical people.

Last winter, I volunteered at a "pop-up" overnight homeless shelter. Near freezing temps, with rain, and overflowing shelters. We had 76 homeless (73 men, 3 women) at a park shelter to watch to make sure no fights or whatever happened. I went outside at about 4:45 am and to my amazement on a Tuesday, 38 degrees outside, light rain, I saw at least 50 independent joggers and cyclists doing what they "had to do".

There was no, "it won't be as cold or raining tomorrow", there was only "I need this".

How do you know? Did you actually speak to them and they told you that?

What if it was a club and that’s what they do?

What if they were training for a race?

You have no idea what their motivations were.

Why does it bother you?

If you spend all your time focused on one thing then you are mentally deranged. The supplement/lift bros fit the bill

People are getting ridiculous with these “mental disorder” claims. If you break anything in life down like that you could label it a “mental disorder”. You think this post is profound but it’s really not. I haven’t worked out in months btw

It's insane to me what mundane shite bothers people on this board. Had an argument with a poster on the Money Board yesterday because he was triggered over people buying luxury watches. Who cares?

I guess as I get older trivial shite that doesn't affect me just doesn't bother me as much. Not sure but this board just shows how insecure people can be.

As a pretty stacked guy that hits gym regular, I know your statements are exaggerated. Sounds like your exaggerating to make excuses for your laziness. One thing about the weights, there is no cheating them. You only get out what your willing to put in..
IF your not willing... no worries. To each his own, but don't talk shite on others that are willing.

I try to stay in shape, but no gym for me. Dudes admiring themselves makes me cringe.

Women in skin tight outfits doing yoga? Maybe I should be interested? Just a joke. I ain't an ogling perv.
