In case anyone wants a good laugh, zoom in on DC in google maps with the traffic layer on. Hilarity ensues.

I just came in driving from Ballston to Courthouse. Took 85 minutes for about 2 miles, slipping and sliding most of the way.

Rds or baytiger any changes for DC? They're staying at sort of a funky hotel that actually has their rooms available for Saturday night. At least they won't be stuck in the airport.

How long does it take to clear the backlog of flights? We've been seriously lucky and have always been on time.

What time do you think the storms are gonna hit BR/Nola today? Radar doesn't look too bad right now except in Texas

They just changed Memphis (or at least I just saw the change) from 1-2 inches to 3-6 inches with more in some places. Which sucks, because people in Memphis can't drive when it's dry outside, much less with 3+ inches of snow on the ground.

At least I went to the grocery on the way home last night so my wife won't have to fool with it today. It was packed then... I'd hate to see in now.

Forecast is for 18-28" in western Fairfax County. Looks like I'll be in the house or working the snowblower most of the weekend.

Re: Airports

From past history with storms like this there will probably be limited service out of the airports on Sunday. I wouldn't expect anything resembling normal activity until sometime on Monday.

Dc is fine today, just cold and windy. I just flew through there with no issues, gorgeous day in charlotte too

Eta: just talked with a gate agent here in charlotte, they're already cancelling flights for tomorrow night and saturday. If you haven't rebooked do it now!

Obama's motorcade was sliding around the streets of DC last night. What a hilarious shite show.
