Their sizes overlap somewhat, so consider 2 animals of the same weight.

Wolf has fewer weapons.

Wolf also is not a solitary animal.

Cheetah wins in your conditions.

I'd go with a shark riding a lion.

They both win on their home turf. If it were indoors or a neutral location the cheetah would win.

Except it wouldn't. The wolf is heavier and has the far greater bite force.

whether they fought on the Serengeti plains or a snowy hillside in Yellowstone the wolf would win 9 times out of 10.

Cheetah is more versatile in speed, leaping, and weapons.

The only way a dog could kill a cat of similar size is if it was in a pack.

Alone, cheetah wins every time. In a pack, win goes to the wolf.

Just based on the times I've seen housecats fight dogs I'm going cheetah.

Cheetah would win at short distance race. Wolf would win a marathon.

If the Wolf was alone, the Cheetah would have a quick hunt and easy snack.

Probably the cheetah. Wolf relies too much on the pack. Cheetahs are solo killers. Plus razor sharp claws....yea I'm going with the cheetah all day
