Grass fed vs grain fed beef, opinions

Is grass fed or grain fed tastier? My in laws raise cattle sparingly and personally know their butcher as well as cattle ranchers. They are from a much more rural part of America than me and my family so who am I to argue with them on matters of livestock and fresh meats? They swear that grain fed is better.
I feel like I’ve been conditioned to think grass fed is better as it is pushed more where I’m from. Only like before where I’m from people have 0 idea really where their meat comes from other than the grocery store and the label on the package. It’s much more disconnected and I’m much more likely to trust the people closer to the process who know the farmers now that I’m getting advice from them.
So what do y’all think? Is grass or grain fed beef better? Specifically regarding steaks.

Saw a YouTube about Australian wagyu. Exclusively grass fed.

Which one is better or which one tastes better? That's two different questions

In my opinion, when we slaughter a cow we go grain fed. Typically, in my opinion, it tends to be a little fattier which gives it more flavor.
Grass fed is more lean, which if that's what you like it's great. But personally, I like a fattier steak for the flavor and I find grain fed fits my wants better.

Sun God Family Cattle are grass fed

Grass fed is leaner than grain fed, but I don't know that I would say grain fed tastes better. Grass fed is pretty damn good, and better nutritionally as well.
That being said, a grain fed ribeye makes a damn good steak.

I don't like the grass fed beef as much. Shoot mine up with steroids. It tastes better

I can’t tell the difference

It’s all preference in taste. Grass fed has stronger more mineral taste while grain fed is milder and sweeter in my opinion.
I prefer grain fed steaks because I want the fat and juiciness.
Grass fed proponents will swear health benefits etc. but there’s really no difference due to the fact that the positive components of the grass fed beef are still not in quantities high enough in a normal portion. There’s also studies from A&M showing grass fed raises bad cholesterol.
So again it’s really all preference.

Even though I agree with you, I still downvoted you. Out of principle.

There's also plenty of studies that suggest any meat raises bad cholesterol, so pick your poison.

It is simply a matter of taste. Just like some people like the funky taste of properly dry-aged steak and some don't.
The only correct answer is yours, you need to try multiple examples of each and make your own decision. What I or anyone else prefers won't change your palate.

Which is why I say it’s a preference in taste only.
Nobody eats steaks for the health benefits
