If your cohorts are killed and you survive you get charged with murder

I'm sorry every time I hear that it sounds even more stupid.

So we need to charge a 21 year old girl with murder for being the getaway driver for a B&E? That's moronic

Look i don't get why everyone freaks out when someone say something like this. The dudes grandson was just killed, this grandfather is also going through some major pain ... I feel for him and he is clearly going through the stages of grief. If he says something that doesn't make sense right now, who gives a shite?

I think there are only two states that don't have that law.

Sure does suck for the female getaway driver who is being charged with 3 counts of 1st degree murder.

I do love that part of the law

She was the one that "masterminded" it supposedly, she sent them in stayed in the car, I'm only sad they we will have to pay for her life in prison.

Three on one - check
One armed with a knife - check
One armed with brass knuckles - check
In his home - check

Yeah, that absolutely seems fair

gramps is just in denial. or he is too stupid to realize that he is partially to blame for not helping raise his grand kid the right way.

11 more steps to go, old man.

It's really not that easy, Fox. The particular facts of a case may warrant the charges.

It reminds me of a case where two guys (in Texas ) robbed a convenience store. Both robbers shot at clerks, but only one robber's bullet hit and killed one of the employees. Both were eligible for the death penalty. Guess who got the death penalty? The guy whose bullet DIDN'T kill the clerk. The actual murderer got life without parole.

The case in the OP is an aggravated one. The dudes were armed. You're in a position to know that the risk of loss of life is elevated. That's the reasoning behind these particular applications of the felony murder statutes.

They weren't robbing. They didn't have weapons.

You don't need a weapon to commit robbery.

And these guys had weapons. A knife and brass knuckles.

I have a friend that showed me his arsenal...hand gun for mobile defense, shot gun for home defense, ar-15 for hunting and another long distance rifle for hunting...

My question To him, was what are you so scared of? You live in a gated condo homie. Can you not talk thing out with your words?

An arsenal like this is for little scared boys that can't resolve conflicts like a real man...with their mind and words. There is no reason for ar-15s to be legal. I don't feel safer at his place and I know he's a responsible, libertarian gun owner.

Yeah it makes sense when bystanders are killed

But if one of your dumbass accomplices gets killed in whatever way...well, who cares?

Some low-lives only know violence. They don't use words.

You do know that there really isn't that much functional difference between an AR-15 and a hunting rifle, right?

I don't currently have one, but sounds like a great self defense weapon. He's an idiot I guess. If his grandchild didn't break into someone's home, this conversation would never happen.
