What about just a regular couple though? Assuming we both work and retire at 65, she'd 48 when I retired and I'd be 82 by the time she did. To me, people with that large of an age gap are just in different phases of life altogether. I guess it works for some people but it wouldn't for me.

Which is why such large age gaps are almost always happening when one of the two (99% of the time the man) has a lot of money.
