Does anyone really follow these things? For example, do you cancel outdoor plans because a state or local government issues an official heat warning? Do you stop what you’re doing and run inside because of a government issued flood or storm warning/watch???

Always figured weather is freely available through other means and people use their best judgement. How much of our tax dollars are wasted on this crap.

Ex..a buddy and i have a 2:30pm tee time tomorrow. Should we cancel because the government issued a heat advisory? It’s almost laughable.

I pay attention to the thunderstorm warnings, tornado warnings and the flash flood warnings.

Do you think that is why they make heat advisories?

Only when the Weather Channel app gives you a notification alerting you about a new and dangerous Covid-19 variant. I ignore everything else though.

And yes, they did send a Covid notification out.

What other means is weather information and warnings available through that is not fully reliant upon government agencies?

I will hang up and listen.

Normal people with brains would not shrug off even a simple a government warning of a heat advisory, but would instead use it for planning what to wear and reminding them to bring extra water.
But, you just go ahead and wear whatever and not bring anything extra to drink.
But, if you have a heat stroke, let us know, for we all want to laugh at you, regardless if you live or not.

There are multiple companies ready to privatize weather with their own models and such. Accuweather and IBM being two of them.

Yea man. I get you. Esp in the summer where the weather is pretty much the same everyday. You seem like the sort of guy that goes somewhere in July and seem shocked that it’s hot. Damn, the government didn’t let me know how many bottles of water to bring.

It's an 'advisory', you turd. Therefore, if you're someone that might be adversely affected by the heat, then they are ADVISING you that you might be in danger.
