Do you have the opportunity to face your accuser in a court of law and defend yourself?
If not, they can't do anything to you for not paying it.

Send them a picture of your check, with all the good stuff blacked out!

As of August 1st, speed cameras are illegal in Louisiana except for school zones.

Draw a dick on ticket.
Put ticket in envelope.
Mail ticket in prepaid envelope.
I giggle every time I think about the red light guy opening the envelope to get free money... And instead "AHHHH A DICK AGAIN!"

First you file a freedom of information act request with the town seeking pretty everything that you can think of relative to the ticket. Cops name, contract with camera operator, number of tickets issued, number of tickets paid, and anything else that you can dream up. The town then has to pay their attorney to gather all of the information. Then you refuse to pay it. They lose money. If everyone would do what I am saying there would be no camera tickets.

Dont pay it. Nobody ever has to pay a camera ticket.

Old saying referring to a Jib Sail. The Jib is the triangular sail at the front of a sailing vessel. To say that you like the cut of someone’s jib is to say that you like their style or manner of doing something.

Something else you can add: the camera manufacturer, the manufacturer's recommended calibration guidelines and the company's calibration records. If you want to get even more granular, you can specify the schedule of calibrations (when the last calibration was before your alleged speeding, if the system was still within the recommended timeframe) and the tools or method they used to calibrate it (certified tuning forks, internal test, etc), the name of the tech who did the calibration and any receipts proving they actually did them (gas, hotel, etc. if they went on-site to tune).
Your only limit is your imagination.

How did the ticket come snail mail? Unless you signed for it the answer is " What ticket?"

Slang for the scar from your circumcision.

Take a picture of your middle finger flipping off. Mail it, and see what happens

Those speed camera’s actually should be illegal in La because you have no way of defending yourself.
But it’s not a criminal violation. It’s civil. And if you don’t pay it goes on you credit report.
It’s a racket that the La. Legislature allows to proceed.

Don’t pay it—though, of course, check your local laws first.
I’ve had plenty of camera tickets over the years, and I’ve never paid a single one. The only time one was ever reported to a credit agency, it took just one letter to have it removed.

I was ticketed by mail for 5 mph over in New Orleans in a school zone 10 minutes before the time posted. For whatever reason, I didn't see the sign and was following traffic so I suppose the whole pack of us got a ticket.
After a bit of discussion with the O-T Brain Trust, I was advised to chunk it in the garbage but later relented and paid the fine online. My reasoning was that if I ever was in that hole again, a license plate reader might find me and boot my truck so I paid the fine.
I'm wondering if it's a state offense or just a Mangum/Winnsboro thing on the Lanie Wilson Highway so if you don't plan on ever visiting one of those fair communities, there might not be a consequence.
Disclaimer: I'm no lawyer and never wanted to be.

Definitely chunk it.
And then enjoy the jail cell you will be in for the warrant next time you get pulled over.
I'm in North LA and wasn't aware there were any cameras. What town if you don't mind me asking?

Does this include the red light cameras in BR too? I haven't seen those taken down yet. I noticed the City of Baker got rid of their speed trailers right after this was passed.

I got one in Opelousas, or so I was told. They sent the ticket to my dad's house and he called me and told me about it. I called the sheriff office and asked why I received a ticket in the mail. The lady said oh it's a speeding ticket from the camera. I told her thank you but I'm throwing it in the trash. She said "Hold on". That was the last words I heard before hanging up. No warrant, nothing. They are literally a scam.

Camera tickets are now illegal except in school zones and Opelousas
Red light cameras are still legal I think
Landry signed it went into effect 08/01
