Somehow search got worse as time went on.

And so will AI…and I sell consulting services around it.

Same with anything really. If all we ever have is AI, nothing will be created new and those “paid people ads” that were first, will be replaced by people who pay to make AI show them first…

Personally, I hate the new look and feel of it. 95% of people are too dumb to understand how to ask an AI engine the right question

AI was fantastic in walking me through how to change the head gasket on my mower. It saved a ton of time pointing me to specific videos and instructions down to my engine model and torque specs.

But for general searches? It’s going to boil down to who pays more to be recognized. Which may not be that much different than it is now.

Enterprise ChatGPT account,

Does the Enterprise version insulate data you enter from becoming part of the outside world.Because of this were blocked form anything other than copilot within OneDrive and teams.

People were dumping PPI into ChatPPT for different things…which is a big no no.

Maybe they’ll allow an option to use the traditional version. Sort of like outlook does.

They need to have an option to turn it off. I get the benefit of having it at times but I don’t think I want every basic search to be this AI deal.

I’ve become a proponent of AI over the last couple years but there’s such a thing as going too far and for a company like Google I think this may be it.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Once they start charging to prioritize your AI results you’ll begin to yearn for the days of google.

They're doing that now in their current search engine.

How do we train AI to rank services or restaurants or theme parks or whatever better?
Will it be based on google reviews?
Based on longevity of business?
???

Would you not just ask it to give you a list of whatever you are looking for based on "xxx" reviews?

Google was great when the search results returned the most exact match to your search. Now, ALL the results, even those that don't say they are sponsored, are really sponsored.

AI will allow you to have even more "sponsored" frustration when you're looking for anything specific not for sale on Amazon or linked to corporate partners' websites.

You’re thinking logically about irrational consumers.

Right now my companies “bid” on google placement based on search terms.
Will it be the same due to AI?
Will they program AI to lie and rank based on bidding?

If they decide to go on reviews, it’ll penalize newer companies.
