June 6th.. Good old Google preserving our Nation's History for the youth. I guess according to google, nothing of importance ever happened today.

They didn't. If the Doddle search is correct they have only done it once in 2019. Again if their search is accurate they have never done a George Floyd one either, this year it was Mother's Day and there was a Mother's Day Doddle.
They do Veteran's Day and the 4th of July almost every year but most Doddles tend to be relatively obscure things.
