Goodbye, New York, California and Illinois. Hello … Where?

The three states have seen an exodus, but it’s not all to Texas and it’s not all about taxes.
New York, California and Illinois have been hemorrhaging residents. Almost 3.2 million more people left those states for elsewhere in the U.S. than arrived from other states, from 2010 through 2019, according to population estimates released last week by the Census Bureau. Nine other states saw net out-migration of more than 100,000 people over that period, but none really came close to the big three.

The problem is that they take their liberal American destroying rhetoric with them. Sky screaming dolts don't understand why they are relocating in the first place.

It’s like y’all think if you say this enough it will become true. It’s way more likely that the people leaving the liberal states are conservatives as they would be more willing to move to a red state.
If anything the migration will leave the blue states more blue as the GOP voters relocate to more friendly environs.

Moved from Illinois to Tennessee and want to go back.

I do think it's contributed to the quick pace of states going hard blue/hard red in the last few decades.
In the 2018 elections, as an example, non-native Texans voted much more conservatively than did native Texans. It's also why I think Florida in addition to Texas has gotten a touch redder and Illinois, New York, and California have become much bluer over the last thirty years - California, especially. All the middle class and upper-middle class conservatives are leaving.

This is what I don't understand. Why would you adopt every single policy that drove you to leave your last state?
It spreads like a damn cancer. Once the taxes/laws are implemented it is nearly impossible to undue the damage. Then they just move on to the next host, I mean state.

Be careful on the gloat. New Yorkers and Californians may be more colonizers than refugees. See Nevada and Colorado....see Virginia as well.

Good, we need less people on the roads out here

Austin says hello.

Not surprising, the cost of living in those states is insanely high.

I know Colorado is still a beautiful state but population surge there has turned some beautiful land into suburbia, kind of sad to see.

I see it first hand, as I get relocating clients all the time. The liberals moving have no fricking clue. It is real, and I first noticed it in Georgia in 2006 where entire neighborhoods had New Jersey license plates... and Democrat yard signs.
Why did they move? Cost of living, taxes, shitty conditions, low job opportunities.
I sent it in Georgia, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. It's not a coincidence.

They simply can't afford to live where they are

Well, that and their tax burden shot through the roof when Trump took their federal/state deduction Cadillac deal away

The problem is all those racists from up north and out west are moving to the south. We don't want your segregation type views down here.
