You can use this to look at historical commute times for different roadways. It will help you get an idea of the type of commute that you are looking at. Note that traffic is MUCH lighter in the summer time. LINK

We've lived in The Woodlands for a couple years. Highly recommend it. I work downtown. Commute ain't that bad if you know the traffic patterns.

Well hell, if you work at Exxon, The Woodlands. Exxon campus is legit. Everything you need there and safe.

If on the other hand if you are going to work at an Exxon gas station in the Houston area disregard.

Live in the heights, commute will be manageable, unless you want to slay some cougars.

Man that's tough. Woodlands is perfect for Exxon and is a great place to live. But being single and young might not fit. I moved to The Woodlands at 29 with an infant. 4 years later it was a great decision. There are a few places to hit up happy hour, but I cant imagine theres a lot of pussy chasing options. There may be, but I'm not aware.

if you have kids - I recommend sticking to the burbs N, NW, W... maybe NE depending on age.

If you work in the city - Express Lane, HOV, or Park/Ride Bus it.
