The Woodlands without a doubt, made the same move and the family and I love living here. Very safe neighborhoods and little to no crime.

Yeah, Dallas Street might not be a bad choice. You would be pretty close to Toyota Center, BBVA Compass, Discovery Green, Minute Maid, etc.

Depends on where you are working. I live in the heights and it’s fun for a young married couple but I doubt I’d want to raise a family in this area.

I live in Cinco Ranch Northlake Village section and love it. It's an older section of Cinco, so taxes are much less 2.6%, and many of the houses have been recently completely renovated using better stuff than in the new construction.
I ride the bus downtown so I drive about 3 miles to the bus stop each day and read, work, or sometimes sleep on the bus. My bus ride is my quiet time each day between the craziness of work and family with 3 kids.

Houston is a great place to work and live, but traffic can be bad and take a long time to get to the suburbs during rush hour. I Live in The Woodlands and love it. Also work not far from home and that makes the difference. Houston is big enough and has a ton of good places to live, so live where you work. If you work downtown look in the Heights, Garden oaks, Oak forest areas. Have friends and family all across houston (Katy, garden oaks, and clear lake) and all are good spots.

Woodlands no doubt. We do have a couple neighbors who live in Bridgeland that work at Exxon but it's a 40 min commute.

I reverse commute from the Heights to The Woodlands, and it's generally 30-35 min going and 40-45 min coming home. I'm getting to work for 6:30 and leaving for 3:30-4:00 though.
I like the Heights & don't have much interest in living in The Woodlands as a <30 y/o single male.

I would not live in the Woodlands if single. I know people who are and do and they are fine, but I would live closer to downtown, midtown, galleria if young and single. We moved to the woodlands after we started a family.
