Always choose an airline that scoffs at thunderstorms with potential for microburst, lighting and high winds and because getting to your destination on time is the most important thing in travel. Dam all those silly rules.

We recently had a disaster experience with American Airlines. After some research we will not be flying with them again.

Not once but twice, flew AA to London via DFW. Both times missed connecting flight to London. Both late in-bound into MSY to put DFW late.

BA new flies direct. Bye bye AA

Leaving AA for BA isn't really doing anything. British Airways is the British American Airlines. BA and AA are partners and are both trash.

I promise they hate it more than anybody. With it being a Federal mandate, they would be fined and could potentially be sued if they didn't enforce it.

Don’t bother. It’s AA. Your next flight will be delayed and you will be fine

No, it left on time.

some confusion about what "on time" is too, a lot of people think that the jet goes from the gate at scheduled departure time and immediately accelerates to about 480 kts. and lands exactly at the destination gate, many factors are entered into the scheduled block time and are constantly adjusted, "on time" is leaving the gate within 15 minutes of scheduled departure time and arriving within in scheduled time plus 15, OP is a dumbass for scheduling a 40 minute connection, probably did it himself and was connecting on a different airline, doubtful, not impossible, that the airline would schedule that connection

Im about 60 miles north of New Orleans, but there was a lot of weather coming from the south with a light of lightning. I'd imagine that played a factor. That has nothing to do with AA jackass.

yep, doubt the airline did that, boarding starts 30 minutes prior, door closes 10 minutes prior, I think OP is full of shite

that's pretty common, and reasonable

ETA: OP, and a lot of the posters in here seem to think there is a conspiracy by the airlines to frick them over, nothing could be further from the truth, everybody involved wants to keep their sorry, complaining asses moving along so they can deal with the next batch

Pretty much the sweet spot if everything is on time. Enough time to go to the bathroom, change concourses, and get to the gate and have a minimal wait.

Thank God bc I was ready to get home. That was right after the ice storm. We ended up having to stay in steamboat 3 extra days bc Dallas was shut down and all flights were cancelled
