Tell me about it. Had to check out of our ski in ski out condo and check in to the Springhill Suites in Downtown Steamboat that had a bar and hot tub. We couldnt ski anymore so all we did was visit the dispensaries, walk around downtown and got loaded for 3 days

OP is a dumbass for scheduling a 40 minute connection, probably did it himself and was connecting on a different airline, doubtful, not impossible, that the airline would schedule that connection
Not sure what the minimum connection time is at CLT, but if they're offering 40 min then it's probably that. I know Phoenix offers 35 min connections on AA. Still wouldn't recommend.
Rule of thumb going forward for everyone here- Book an hour connection or longer if you absolutely need to get somewhere. With limited flights nowadays, the next rebooking flight is likely several hours away and full. My mom had MIA-LAX-SEA a few weeks ago and even with 2.75 hrs for a connection, only ended up with 35 minutes due to delays out of MIA. That 77W though she had good things to say
Eta: I remember 08s issues above, glad you enjoyed the extra few days there. That is more of an exception due to flying into a mountain airport in February with a snowstorm. In those cases, 2 hrs is safer due to deicing required

So a weather delay is the airlines fault? You seem bright.

Op would rather take off into the microburst than wait at the gate.

yep, doubt the airline did that, boarding starts 30 minutes prior, door closes 10 minutes prior, I think OP is full of shite
My experience is they can book a connecting flight with as little as 30 minutes in between but there is normally a warning flag. Always ensure an hour layover minimum since, usually, the worst case is you have a Bloody Mary while waiting.

Could be worse places, but when you’re ready to go home, it’s time to go home!

We were ready to go home and missed a couple functions but it was worth staying the extra days. Plus we had travel insurance that pretty much covered the entire 3 extra days except for a few little things. No biggie.

Usually my crew just fuels the Lear while it’s in the hangar and we go when I arrive.

Man, some seriously wounded vaginas in this thread. Damn, y'all OK?

You didn’t get the memo, Lears are for poors only

If it's not at least a Gulfstream, they are apparently not even trying.
