Had this been me and my boys on spring break this POS wouldn’t have driven off.
He’d laid their in his on blood till the cops
Showed up.
But nonetheless, good job being brave and standing up to thievery.

The robber wasn't that much of a thug or he would have killed them all, had plenty of opportunity. I doubt they were brave as much as drunk and stupid.
