Yeah... guy in our Sunday School class one morning starting kind of tapping his leg... said it was uncomfortable. I didn't think anything of it... until... he just took has damn leg off, got some padding or something out of his pocket, put it around his actual leg, and put his fake leg back on. I had no idea. He's been in the class for several years. Just... took the dang thing off...

Anyways... to the OP... sounds like you are ready to put in the work to make a successful recovery and get back full function of your leg. Kudos to you!!!

I had a buddy who lost a leg to infection. It was an absolute chick magnet - a conversation starter. He got laid constantly. Was after the middle east conflict and many people mistakenly presumed he lost it in combat and thanked him for his service. He never claimed it was so, but also did not go out of his way to correct their error.

I can't say that I have my friend. Are you a diabetic by any chance?

I haven’t had to deal with Sepsis, but I had a below the knee amputation in Aug of 2022 after about 4 years of battling a chronic diabetic foot ulcer on my right foot. I immediately began rehab through Ocshner and did great. I worked on upper body strength and improved my core strength as well. I am now managing my prosthetic leg with Hanger Clinic and it is going great. I’m on my third prosthesis and I can walk, work in the lawn, attend games, ride bikes, & drive a car. However, I had to add a left foot gas pedal which was pretty easy and not too expensive (@$200). My quality of life is almost normal, with a few hurdles that are a result of my condition. I am retired and happy to be alive and obtain so much joy by taking care of my grandchildren. I pick them up from school when needed and spend so much time with them. Life is good. Attitude is everything.

I get the best parking spots, and skip the lines at Amusement Parks. I am also Lactose Intolerant. I can have dairy products, I just lack toes! I’ll be happy to argue my position on this thread, but I don’t have a leg to stand on. Rim shot!

Good luck to you! Get well soon and stay strong.

I have a badass looking scar on my arm that I got overseas. It was from a spider bite while I was asleep.

Not diabetic. All streamed from cellulitis going untreated by a faith based rehab. The worst part is how fast I used to heal and now I've been in the hospital for a month and not even close to walking. Not letting some Drs stuff me full of narcotics so I can keep my witrs about myself.

Understanding phantom pain is worse right now to ha?ndle than actual pain.

What triggered the cellulitis infection? Was it random or did you have a cut?

Not sure if it was a minor scrape or or what.

It was the 3rd time having cellulitis in 3 years.

Buddy of mine lost part of his leg right below the knee. He was still able to skateboard with the prosthetic leg.

Not something I would ever want, but like most things, it is what you make it, I guess.

A friend lost both legs below the knee, along with the ends of a few fingers.

Another friend, went to sleep, woke up the next morning, couldn't get out of bed. Paralyzed from the waist down.

Are you fat? Serious question. My dad often gets cellulitis in his legs of course if he took his fluid pills like he’s supposed to it would be better but he has a bad hip and uses a Walker. Doesn’t feel like getting up to pee 15 times a day.

Bravo sir for bringing this post. Hope it all works out. Your post and pic just brings reality to life. Some people complain about little shite and people like yourself have life hitting them in the face. Prayers for you.

Pirates used to get them done all the time and get a wooden peg. I think it was mostly from when a cannon ball would hit their leg. They would still be off sailing the high seas and creating havoc afterwards. You will be back on your legs before you know it.

I thought this pic was a little more cool but made my leg look like a burrito.

That was the hard problem being where I am in N Alabama was finding a problem getting A vascular surgeon to not mess up my leg. But this doc has gotten kudos from everyone in his field.
