I know several people that live in that subdivision and can tell you that none of them were aware of that place before moving in.

LMAO why would anyone willingly move there knowing that a giant bauxite shithole was right across the street

Bet they got a good deal tho while the developers got a 100x better deal

This is an uncle of a friend of mine. He planted sunflowers that spelled Trump. I had a photo but I can't it.

Being too dumb to know you were moving next to that isn’t the owner of the bauxite’s fault.

This is like moving next to a school then complaining about traffic at rush our 9 months out of the year.

Blame the plant for not buying enough of a buffer zone and blame the parish for not zoning properly and allowing a developer to put a neighborhood there.

Anyone who bought in that neighborhood was an idiot. Building in a chemical corridor and not questioning what the random 50' tall mound is next door.

I totally understand the argument about doing research before moving next to something like this. I agree. I'd never live there because I'm not an idiot and I look at maps when I'm about to buy real estate. I also think the bauxite facility needs to keep their shite under control.

Usually they have a sprinkler system running, but there are so many different rules and honestly that alumina plant is a shithole that gets sold off and bankrupted every few years.

That’s exactly what it is. We were always told those mounds were government bauxite reserves in the event of war. There were also huge slats metal nearby that we believed to be lead.

All that’s a park now.
