Spent the whole day yesterday at the Turner Personnel office on a computer.

Want to know what I'll be doing most days or the type of work

Tell me about Turner too.

I need you to go to the tool room and bring back a sky hook.

You’ll be jacking off the pipefitters and getting them hard before they drill.

You better like the pipe.
You gonna get good at grinding.
Pipefitters always lie about measurements.

In no time, you’ll be bitching about the operators soaking up that cold AC while you’re doing all the work, talking about how the engineers are just book smart and don’t know shite about the real world. After a while, you’ll drag up, if they don’t run you off first.

Whatever the frick your are told to do.

shite rolls down hill and you are at the absolute bottom.

Keep your attitude in check, do what you are told and volunteer for anything that’s offered. You’ll be an all star compared to damn near all the other young assholes who think they should be running the site after a month and you’ll actually get to move up instead of bitching about not being moved up because the boss hates you.

Fetching a lot of things

Working a chain-fall.

Edt: you won't be asked to do much. Just have a good attitude.

Don't put your hat on the lunch table

That is about it.

While he's there he might as well get a pipe stretcher if they have any left. They're gonna need one later and he'll impress them with his forward thinking.

Nepotism runs rampant and if you’re not in the click you’re not going anywhere. Ohhhh and measure twice and cut once.

Basically you can be as lazy as you want at the plants. The pace of work is so fricking slow because of all the ridiculous paperwork and idiot safety guys coming over to bother you and slow down work. Think of it like it’s better to do nothing at all than give something for them safety jackasses to get you on. There will also be rat fricks who will be quick to go to safety as well so watch out for them.

This is actually good advice. The trades are full of small brains that think stepping on others’ heads will both go unnoticed (it won’t) and get them higher than just actuality working hard. Keeping your head down, working hard and keeping your nose clean is the best practice
