Golf Lessons around NOLA/ Northshore. Whats a good price and where?

Thinking about starting to play golf and thought I should take some lessons to make sure I actually like it first. Dont even have clubs yet. So two questions:
1. Who would you recommend?
2. Whats a good price to pay?
I live in Covington but work in New Orleans East right after you get off twin span.
Thanks

Leitz at Tchefuncte is great, about $120 an hour I think......

He's actually ranked nationally as a top 100 teacher

Rob Noel and James Leitz are both on the Northshore and are very highly regarded teachers.

Depends on the level of your game. I have seen these guys both help and destroy ones game. Leitz is now at Tchefuncta and I believe only available to the members. Noel is still open to anyone willing to pay but he is a bit of a douche and is more focused on junior golfers.....but he will still take your money.
From what I understand, Noel is one of the big reason there is no First Tee program on the northshore.

He is at TCC but available to nonmembers as well. He's got a great set up there, and I recommend it to anyone interested in improving your game. It's usually not a one and done lesson though. It's a process of figuring out a good swing path for you over a series of lessons. It's helped me out a bunch (still have a long....long way to go)

Good to hear. Initially he was only available to his former students and club members.

Pretty sure he and Rob use the same method.

James uses Trackman, GearsGolf, etc... it's a cool experience

Leitz is in a whole different league than Rob. Definitely choose Leitz if you are choosing between these two.

Leitz is the only answer if he is available and within your budget.
